To start your tour, discover the city of Chorges, where your club Les Horizons du Lac is located. At the gates of the Parc des Ecrins, stroll through the narrow streets of this picturesque village with its unique atmosphere. You can admire the remains of the 14th century rampart and the magnificent viaducts at the level of the bay of Chanteloube.

Your journey continues in the city of Embrun, which is distinguished by its rich history and exceptional natural setting. Its medieval but also Provençal charm promises you good times spent with family or friends. Conquer the Brown Tower of Embrun, a site that bears witness to the city’s archiepiscopal past and has been transformed into a museographic space. Then, you can contemplate the sublime cathedral of Embrun and its Lombard-inspired architecture, and visit the Saint-François chapel which houses one of the richest sacred treasures in France (accessible only by guided tour).

At the entrance to Embrun, go back in time to Picomtal Castle, which looks like a medieval castle overlooking Lake Serre-Ponçon. Visits are organized throughout the summer and in August opt for night tours with scenery and music. Restored at the end of the 20th century, stroll through the magnificent garden adjoining the castle with its varied vegetation that reveals itself step by step.

Stop at Boscodon Abbey, a 12th century Romanesque building that is a listed historical monument. You can immerse yourself in the history and spirituality of this Benedictine sanctuary, surrounded by a pretty valley ideal for tasting the sweetness of the countryside.

And finally, discover the charm of Rohebrune, a flowered village with cobbled streets and stone houses. This wonderful perched village is a treasure of architecture and natural heritage. From the church, come and admire the breathtaking view of the wooded hills, dotted with layers of rocks and brightened by the yellow touches of the broom mountains. A sparkling palette of colours that you can’t get enough of.
